The Cameron Effect is an expression of faith

I’m not a blogger, but I thought you might like to hear . . . . I grew up in a liberal ‘reformed’ Jewish household. From my perspective, I didn’t practice our religion (i.e. regular attendance of services, studying, praying, discussing my beliefs, etc.). During school break, my family and I got to talking about the ‘Cameron Effect.’ Wow. It turned into hours of sharing our values, beliefs, spiritual concepts, and so on. I came away with a much greater understanding, and appreciation for, our religion’s basic tenets. My lesson learned: the most practical expression of Judiasm is to love and honor God through acts of kindness to others and by contributing to the welfare of our community. This may be an overly simplistic interpretation, but it works for me: my acts of kindness, not only make me feel good, but they are also expressions of my spirituality. Thanks to Cameron for enabling this insight. Sheh-Elohim Yivarech Otcha! –Isaac G.
