My friend Maggie and I were discussing what we wanted to do for our seven acts of kindness, and she suggested that donating blood in honor of Cameron. I had never donated before because I am fairly afraid of needles, but used Cameron as an inspiration today. As I was waiting my turn I could feel the nerves rising up, and was able to calm myself down by imagining Cameron’s 6 ft 7 frame sprawled out on one of the frames with his gigantic contagious smile. I could even picture how delighted he would have been with the cookie and juice that follows the donation. Shelley I am touched by your strength and ability to translate this loss into something that spreads love throughout the world today. Cameron was an amazing man, and what a beautiful way to honor his life. Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us, without this I may have never convinced myself to donate blood, I feel that it will be a yearly tradition now.
