Well, so far today I have completed at least one HUGE act. I think maybe it was so big that it could count as at least three! ;o) Just kidding. I was sitting here at my desk, thinking about what I wanted to do for my 7 acts of compassion. I decided to look at my email contact list to see if anything jumped out at me. Sure enough, I believe thanks to Cameron, a name popped out at me like a rocket! I found a family member there that I needed to forgive. Someone who had done a terrible, terrible thing to my family. I wrote an email and told him that I had forgiven him right then and there. I explained what forgiveness is and that I was forgiving him for ME, not for anyone else or the sake of peace in the family. But just for me and my own issues of anger and hatred. I needed those two things to go away. As soon as I hit the send button, I felt this tremendous sense of relief! Man, did it feel good!! I am off to find a few more acts! Thank you Cameron, Shelley & Dad!! I love you all!!

Ok, so the rest of my 7 things…I listened to a bell ringer at the front door of Wal-Mart tell me how she thought she was coming down with pneumonia and told her that I hoped she felt better soon. I shared lunch with a co-worker who would have otherwise sat alone and ate. I took my daughter to the grocery store with me without her having to ask me first. I gave a ride to one of my other daughter’s friends after Young Life. I smiled at people who I normally would have passed right by. I made a pharmacist at Wal-Mart laugh. Oh, I’m sure that there were WAY more than 7. Really, I have to agree with others here. This should be an every day thing. I will commit to trying my hardest at making it just that.

Oh, I almost forgot! I went on USO.org and left a message for a service person telling them how much I appreciated what they’re doing and the time they’re taking away from their families and friends. :o) THAT one made me feel really good!! I’m so happy that there are so many comments here and to hear how wide this has spread!
